John William Morley enlisted on the 1st February 1916, stating his age as 19 years old, and his place of residence as Mosley Lee, Weston Underwood, Derbyshire. He was employed as a waggoner. He served in France from the 13th August 1916. He was then admitted to hospital in Le Treport with nephritis on the 26th February 1917, before returning to England on the 17th March. He died at the Duston War Hospital, Northamptonshire, on the 19th October 1917, cause of death being given as nephritis and uraemia.
